Who has two thumbs and popped out an awesome baby boy?
Forty weeks and 3 days of anxiety, anticipation, preparation and excitement culminated on the 28th of April when I gave birth to our sweet little Jack.
It was undeniably the most miraculous day of my life. The birthing process itself was intense, grueling and scary, but worth every moment. I’ll post more about my birthing experience another time as this post is reserved for simply sharing my abundance of joy!
There’s no question I love my husband with all of my being, but I never knew how much love I could possess until having a child. Granted, I’ve only been a mother for 6 days, but I cannot begin to express the amount of joy I have in my heart. Michael has been awesome throughout the entire journey, from the beginning of the pregnancy to the birth, and continues to astound me. I’m so grateful to have found a man who is not only an incredible life partner but an amazing father. Seriously, how did I get so lucky?
My dreams have come true. I believe surmounting turmoil earlier in life has given me the resilient mentality to be a strong and adept mother and I’m ready to embrace this adventure called motherhood! I’ll surely make a ridiculous amount of mistakes on this whole first-time parenting gig, but at least they’ll make for some prime comedic material for your reading pleasure. You’re welcome. Without further ado, let the parenting exploits begin!
